The God in Whom We Trust – A Sermon in Response to Duane’s Situation

This past Sunday I postponed the sermon I was planning to preach in our Gospel of John series, to preach a message to help our church respond to Duane’s serious condition. The message title was “The God in Whom We Trust”. Back in May, I preached another message in response to the first difficult news about Duane, called “The God of All Comfort”, which has been one of the most downloaded messages on our website. It seems to me that many people face unexpected disease or suffering and that the Lord has used this message to help fill the need for a response. I have posted links to each message (audio & pdf notes) below:

2008-11-16 The God in Whom We Trust – The mp3 sermon audio can be downloaded here and the pdf sermon notes can be downloaded here

2008-05-18 The God of All Comfort – The mp3 sermon audio can be downloaded here and the pdf sermon notes can be downloaded here

(for all of these files, you can left click to open them directly, or you can right click and choose ‘save as’ to save them to your hard drive).

Many people have expressed to me that they have been helped by these messages, and I pray that the Lord will use them as a blessing and an encouragement in your life.

Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
